James Lawson Balfour, 1870-1966, Australia, New Zealand.
Balfour studied in London as a portrait painter and illustrator of books and exhibited Royal Academy 1898 He arrived in Christchurch 1900 and exhibited with Canterbury society of arts until 1906 On moving to Sydney he became a member of the Royal Art Society. Works now represented throughout Australia, NZ and Ireland.
