Mark Cross, 1955-., New Zealand.

Born in 1955 in Auckland, New Zealand, Mark Cross became a practising artist during his mid teens.
At the age of 23 he moved with his family to his wife’s village, Liku, on the island of Niue and now shares his time between there and New Zealand. Cross exhibits widely both nationally and internationally and is represented in public, private and corporate collections throughout New Zealand and abroad.
He is the recipient of numerous awards, grants and residencies including QEII Arts Council Bledisloe Medal for Landscape, Central King Country Visual Awards Trust Award and British Consulate to the Cook Islands artist residency. In addition to his painting, Cross is also a photographer and has been involved in a number of community and collaborative art projects in New Zealand, Australia and Niue.
