An asset that appreciates while it's appreciated. What other investment provides as much pleasure as collecting art?
Many leading investors see art as an attractive alternative to stocks and bonds and the success of art-as-investment makes news every day. Certainly, in the last thirty years or so, financial observers have seen works of art surpass and outperform many other forms of investment.
Down through the centuries, the wise and canny - the Pharaohs, the Medicis, the Gettys and the Saatchis have understood the value of collecting the works of established artists. The investment potential of works of art as a valuable part of an investment portfolio is now universally acknowledged. As the Australian Financial Review reported in mid 2002, "the recent track record with prices of some artists doubling or tripling in a year]…[compares more than favourably with returns from financial securities".
Berkeley Editions takes great pleasure in working with artists and printmakers whom we appreciate and admire. When you invest in our Limited Edition Prints you are acquiring collectable and pleasing works by well known artists, for a modest outlay. And because we have such a diversified group of artists you have an exceptional range of work to choose from - whether it's a lyrical Shoalhaven landscape by Arthur Boyd, or a dazzling work by Colin Lanceley - the pleasure you'll experience will only increase as you see its value rise.
