Born in Melbourne in 1951, Chris Capper studied at the Western Australian Institute of Technology (now Curtin University) and at the Victorian College of the Arts. He paints in a modern style in oil, acrylic and gouache. Since his first solo exhibition in 1974 he has exhibited in most Australian capital cities and in a survey exhibition at the Maitland Regional Art Gallery in 2007.
