About Robert (Bob) Marchant
Born in Dimboola, Victoria in 1938, Bob Marchant studied at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology after winning a scholarship after which he moved overseas and for the next 20 years worked as a graphic designer and art director in London, and travelled around Europe. He returned to Sydney in 1980 and became a full-time artist. He won the Sulman Prize in 1988 and 1989 and the Mosman Art Prize in 1992. His first solo exhibition was in Sydney in 19985 and since then he has held solo exhibitions in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and Adelaide and overseas in the USA and France. As well, he has participated in numerous group exhibitions. He currently lives and works in Bundeena a coastal village on the southern outskirts of Sydney.

The highest price recorded for the artist is $31,909 for Tribute to Allan Border, 1993-94 sold by Lawson~Menzies (now trading as Menzies) in August 2013.
