Paul Aldis won the Sir Hans Heyson greater Western Mining prize for under 25 year olds in 1986 and was highly praised by then premier Sir Donald Dunstan. He has paintings in private collections in Australia, England, America and Sweden. The Art Gallery of South Australia owns one of Pauls paintings entitled Bow Gill, River Murray.
