Born in Croatia in 1952, sculptor Anna Eggert emigrated to Australia in 1962. She was awarded a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Sydney in 1973 and a Bachelor of Visual Arts from the Australian National University in 1991 and in 2008 was living and working in Canberra. She held her first solo exhibition in Sydney in 1992, and since then has held regular solo and group exhibitions in Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra and Alice Springs. She has won a number of prizes for her sculpture, including the Waverley Art Prize, Sculpture in 2001 and the McClelland Sculpture Award in 2004.

The highest price recorded for the artist is $20,400 for Felicity 2003 sold by Lawson~Menzies (now trading as Menzies) in March 2009.
