About John D Lennox
Born in Melbourne in 1941, Lennox studied at the National Art School in Sydney, the George Bell School and the Slade School in London. He is known for his colourful landscapes and horse paintings, he held 6 solo exhibitions mostly in Melbourne between 1972 and 1994 and exhibited in the Art Gallery of New South Wales Wynne Prize in 1976.
We have records of art auction sales by John Lennox from 1977 and in total 132 works by the artist have been offered for sale, of which 75 (57%) were sold. The highest price recorded for the artist is $11,000 for Girls Feeding Ducks sold by Christies in November 1993. This year one work has been offered for sale.
