Born in Melbourne in 1941, Lennox studied at the National Art School in Sydney, the George Bell School and the Slade School in London. He is known for his colourful landscapes and horse paintings, he held 6 solo exhibitions mostly in Melbourne between 1972 and 1994 and exhibited in the Art Gallery of New South Wales Wynne Prize in 1976.

The highest price recorded for the artist is $11,000 for Girls Feeding Ducks sold by Christies in November 1993. This year one work has been offered for sale.
