About Andris Jansons
Born in Latvia in 1939, Andris Jansons arrived in Australia in 1949, studying architecture and then working as an opal cutter, before taking up painting full time in 1971. Since his first solo exhibition in 1976, he has held a number of of solo shows in Melbourne, Sydney and Adelaide and worked as an art tutor in Adelaide. Andris Jansons is a member of the Australian Guild of Realist Artists, and lives in Adelaide.
