Born in New Zealand in 1920, Peter Blayney arrived in Australia at the age of nine. He studied in Sydney and in 1949 continued his studies in France, Italy and the England. He became a teacher and painter of geometric abstract forms, first exhibiting his work in London in 1962. Blayney returned to Sydney in 1967, where he continued to teach and exhibit his work in the eastern states.
