Marine artist Peter Anderson was born in Brisbane in 1956. He was awarded a Diploma Fine Art (Painting) from the College of Art, Brisbane after studying there from 1974 - 1976 and in 1977 was awarded a Graduate Diploma of Fine Arts (Painting) from RMIT Melbourne. The following year he was Second Mate on a sailing ship for a circumnavigation of the globe over 3 years and since then has gained extensive sailing knowledge through expeditions to locations including New Guinea, Lord Howe Island, Norfolk Island, Macquarie Island, the Antarctic, the Russian Arctic, the Falklands and the Ross Sea. His first solo exhibition was in Brisbane in 1976 and since then he's exhibited in Brisbane Sydney in Canberra. His work has been included in Group exhibitions in Queensland and New South Wales. Peter Anderson currently lives and works in Brisbane.
