About Mirka Mora
Born in Paris in 1928, Mora studied in France before coming to Australia in 1951. The wife of George Mora, she was an active member of the Contemporary Art Society where she exhibited from 1954, and the Museum of Modern Art in Melbourne. She worked for six decades across a range of media, including embroidery, soft sculpture and doll-making. Her mosaics decorate Flinders Street Station, and streetscapes in St Kilda, Melbourne.
