Born in Victoria in 1895, Madge Freeman studied in Melbourne, London and Europe. A member of the Melbourne Contemporary Artists, Independent Group and Melbourne Society of Women Painters and Sculptors, she painted mainly scenes of city streets, buildings and bridges.
