Elizabeth (Liz) Brophy was born in Australia in 1926 and studied Art at East Sydney Technical College. She moved to Portugal after winning a prestigious Australian newspaper Art award, exhibited at Atelier Ec in Colares, and later settled in Ireland, where she showed at several galleries in Dublin including Magil fine Art. Her works are in public and private collections in the USA (including the Museum of natural history), Australia, Portugal, Spain, France, England and Ireland.

We have records of art auction sales by Liz Brophy from 1974 and in total 24 works by the artist have been offered for sale, of which 7 (29%) were sold.
