Born in Wellington, New Zealand in 1966, with Samoan, Tahitian and Cook Islands heritage, Michael "Michel" Cliff Tuffery studied at the University of Hawaii and Otago Polytechnic. A printmaker, painter and and performance artist he is known for his paintings using themes based on Pacific Island culture. Michel exhibits worldwide and has undertaken residencies in the USA, Germany, France, United Kingdom, Asia, India, Australia and New Zealand.
