Born in the UK, Charles Gosford graduated from the Royal Academy School in London in 1966, becoming a landscape painter in pastel, oil and acrylic, and a portraitist. A member of the House of Lords (as Earl of Gosford) he was heavily involved in promoting the arts in England. Gosford arrived in Australia in 1982 and has exhibited in Sydney, Newcastle, Canberra , and Cloncurry.
