Born in Scotland in 1949, Allan Mann studied extensively in Scotland. He arrived in Australia in 1976 and taught printmaking in Queensland and New South Wales until 1983. After spending four years in Scotland he returned to Australia in 1987 and taught visual arts in Victoria. A painter and printmaker, Mann has exhibited frequently, and was the subject of a solo retrospective exhibition at the Ballarat Art Gallery in 1999.
