About Angus (Gus) Watson
Angus Watson was born in Invercargill, New Zealand in 1947 and has been a full time painter since 1988. A self taught artist, Angus Watson has developed a loose impressionist style, and his subjects include the nude, florals and landscapes. He has three exhibitions a year in new Zealand, but sells most of his work from his studio near Queenstown in the heart of the South Island of New Zealand. His paintings have sold to visitors from New Zealand and in the USA, England and Europe.
The total number of works by Gus Watson offered for sale by auction since 2005 is 14, of which 13 (93%) were sold. The highest price recorded for the artist is $1,203 for Still Life sold by Dunbar Sloane in June 2021. This year one work has been offered for sale.
