Born in Lower Hutt, New Zealand Isobel McBeath was awarded a Preliminary Diploma of Fine Arts from Wellington Technical College in 1959. Painting in oils and a sculptor, she has exhibited throughout New Zealand and in Europe from 1970 to 2005, and as a member of the New Zealand Academy of Fine Arts. She often signs her works as 'Belmac'.
