Born in Geelong, Victoria in 1918, Lloyd Orton qualified as an architect in Melbourne and took sculpture as part of his post-graduate studies at Cornell University in the USA. A painter, sculptor in stone, wood and maker of bronze portrait medallions, Orton exhibited from 1978, while also practicing as an architect.
