Born Melbourne 1949 of Lithuanian descent, Sigi Gabrie studied at RMIT, Melbourne and the State College Hawthorn. Creating paintings, prints constructions and sculptures, he has also worked at a costume and set designer. His first solo exhibition was in Melbourne in 1973, and he held solo exhibitions at Stuart Gerstman Galleries in Melbourne in 1975, 1976, 1977 and 1981. He participated in group exhibitions from 1974 to 1988 in Melbourne and Hobart. Sigi Gabrie lives and works in Hobart.
