Born in Hobart, Tasmania in 1932, Patricia Giles studied at the Hobart Technical College and the University of Tasmania, Tasmanian School of Art in 1968. She is a member of the Australian Watercolour Institute and a Life Member the Art Society of Tasmania. A watercolourist painting landscapes, beachscapes and florals, she has exhibited in more than 30 solo and group exhibitions, mainly in Tasmania since 1956. She has been awarded a number of prizes including the Tasmanian Museum & Art Gallery, Watercolour Award in 1972 and 1973 and the City of Hobart Art Prize in 1990.
