Alexandra Asovtseff was born in 1910 in Russia and trained initially in a 3 year tutorial under Russian teachers in Harbin, China. She lived in China from 1930 to 1953 where she studied all forms of visual arts: painting, sculpture and portraits. She moved to Sydney in the early 1960s, and held solo shows with the Royal Art Society of NSW and many group exhibitions. She was an exhibiting member of The Royal Art Society.
