Born in Palmerston North, New Zealand in 1957, Peter Ranson studied at the University of Canterbury School of Fine Arts where he specialised in printmaking. He is known for his lithographs, woodcuts and etching, and as a painter for his pen, pastel and wash drawings. His work was included in the Thirty Canterbury Artists exhibition at the Christchurch Art Gallery in 1988, and he has two works in the BNZ Art Collection.
