Born in New South Wales in 1922, Ruth Faerber studied at the National Art School and Orban Studio in Sydney, and at the Pratt Centre for Contemporary Printmaking in New York. Known as a painter, printmaker, art teacher and an art critic for the 'Australian Jewish Times' (1969-1980) she has exhibited widely in Australia and overseas. In April 2022 the Mosman Art Gallery held an exhibition 'Ruth Faerber: Centenary' marking the 100th year of the artist.
