A New South Wales painter, born in 1945, Ingrid Haydon studied art in Sydney on a scholarship at the National Art School and studied at Alexander Mackie under Kevin Connor and Ann Thompson. She taught at Hornsby and Meadowbank TAFEs and the Workshop Arts Centre, Willoughby. Haydon has exhibited in Sydney since 1987 having numerous solo shows at Access Art Gallery (now Brenda May Gallery), Chapman Gallery Canberra, Penrith regional Gallery, Katoomba Fine Art and Nolan on Lovell, Katoomba.
