A New Zealand artist, Charles Bickerton was born in 1878. He studied at the Canterbury School of Art from 1893 to 1897 and later in London and Paris. He returned to New Zealand in 1904. Known as a Canterbury painter, he exhibited in Wellington and Auckland.
