Born in Poland in 1946, Allan Mitelman arrived in Australia as a child. He studied in Melbourne before embarking on a two year trip to the Middle East and Europe. An abstract painter, sketcher and teacher, he has exhibited in Melbourne and Sydney since 1969 and in many overseas countries.
