Born in Auckland in 1972, Emily Wolfe was awarded a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Elam School of Fine Arts, the University of Auckland, studying from 1993 to 1996. Having been awarded the Ryoichi Sasakawa Scholarship for postgraduate study in 1998, she moved to London where she now lives, and studied for a Master of Fine Arts at the Slade School of Fine Art, University College London from 1998 to 2000. On completion of her Masters degree she was awarded the Duveen Travel Scholarship, administered by the Slade School of Fine Art. She lives and works between London and Auckland and has exhibited in both cities since 1996.
