About Niel Gren
Born in Norway about 1893, Nils Gren Arrived in Australia during World War I and studied in Sydney with Dattilo Rubbo. He then migrated to the United States in 1918. He died in San Francisco in 1940. His work, described as surrealist and dreamlike, and is represented in the Art Gallery of New South Wales.
Since 1970 we have recorded only one work being sold at auction by this artist, which was in 1991.
