About Phillip Edwards
Phillip Edwards was born in Wellington and is a self-taught artist, learning with the guidance of his father, Henry Edwards, a professional artist and illustrator. He exhibited in Auckland, including solo and joint shows with his father, as well as in numerous group shows. In 1990 he moved to Nelson and became a bookbinder for the local library, taking a break from art, then moving to Dunedin 2008 and resuming his artistic career. A photorealistic artist, he had his first South Island solo exhibition in 2010 in Dunedin, and since then has had further successful exhibitions.
