Born in Sydney in 1895 Daphne Mayo studied at Central Technical College, Brisbane and Sydney Art School. A sculptor who often worked in clay and terra-cotta, usually figurative in subject matter. She recieved numerous commissions for public organisations. She is represented in many state and regional collections.
