Born in Auckland, Andy Leleisi'uao is of Samoan descent. He was raised and educated in Auckland, and on leaving school worked in a factory to help support his family. It wasn't until his mid 20's that he was able to pursue his love of painting, and since then he has had many exhibitions. In 2011 he was awarded a scholarship to undertake a Masters degree in Visual Arts at Auckland University of Technology. In 2017 he was the winner at the 26th annual Wallace Art Awards in Auckland. Leleisi’uao has exhibited throughout New Zealand and in solo and group exhibitions in Australia, Rarotonga, Germany, Taiwan, and the USA.
