Born in Austria in 1943, Werner Filipich arrived in Australia in 1950. He completed a course with the Julian Ashton Art School and attended the Royal Art Society sketch club but is mostly a self taught artist. He is an exhibiting member of the Royal Art Society. He paints traditional scenes around Sydney Harbour and the Australian countryside as well as figurative paintings depicting people at play around the beaches and countryside.

We have records of art auction sales by Werner Filipich from 1983 and in total 358 works by the artist have been offered for sale, of which 285 (80%) were sold. The highest price recorded for the artist is $3,565 for Mosman Bay sold by Elder Fine Art in May 2010. This year 19 works have been offered for sale.
