About John Clifton Garde
John Garde was born 1949 in Melbourne. He spent his childhood in Adelaide and then studied Commercial Art at Seaforth Technical School, North Sydney for a year and in 1967, moved to Western Australia to study portrait painting with his father, Owen Garde. He completed teacher training in 1970 and taught art at various high schools in Western Australia. From 2007 he was a casual lecturer in Visual Arts at TAFEWA.
