Born in Ballarat in 1918, Gilda Gude is the younger sister of artist, Nornie Gude (1915 - 2002). Gilda studied at the Ballarat School of Mines. In the 1960s she lectured in art at RMIT. A figurative and floral painter she won the Drawing Prize at the Royal Art Society in Melbourne in 1952.
