Born in 1951, David Ryan studied art extensively in Melbourne, and later went on travel studies to India. He has held solo exhibitions of his paintings in Brisbane and Sydney since 1977. Ryan's work is represented in the National Gallery of Australia, National Gallery of Victoria, and in tertiary and regional collections.
