Born in New South Wales in 1943, Alan Oldfield studied at the National Art School, Sydney. He held his first one-man show in the Watters Gallery in Sydney in 1966; several successful one-man and joint showings both in Sydney and Melbourne followed. He travelled overseas in 1970 and again in 1974, and has won several awards.
