English artist Sidney Goodwin used the pseudonym William Young from his arrival in Sydney in 1919 to his death in 1944. Paul Sidney Goodwin, was born in Southampton England in 1875 and moved to London to study at the Croydon School of Art in 1894 and exhibit at Royal Hibernian Academy of Arts in Dublin. He visited and lived in Canada and the United States before arriving in Sydney in 1919. Active in Sydney in the 1920s as William Young, he painted watercolour rural scenes and landscapes of Sydney and country areas.
