About Mark Tippett
Mark Tippett was born in Newcastle, NSW in 1965 and began his career in commercial art, working in advertising layout and design before computer graphic design and art direction. He studied for a Bachelor of Arts (Fine Arts) and a Diploma of Commercial Art and is a qualified trainer, teaching art classes to all ages. He has entered the Art Gallery of New South Wales Archibald Prize three times, and its more laconic ‘partner’, the celebrated Bald Archy Prize, five times. He specialises in commissioned fine art caricature portraits, single and family portraits.
