Born in Java in 1948, Jeremy Boot arrived in Australia as an infant, and lived in South Australia. A self taught artist, he is a painter and illustrator of Australian wildlife in watercolour and gouache. His first solo exhibition was in Adelaide in 1977 but he mainly works on commision and has completed work for major Australian natural history publishers including Nocturnal Birds of Australia for Landsdowne Press. Boot also produces limited edition prints from his studio, now located in Noosa Queensland.

The highest price recorded for the artist is $14,400 for Little Kingfisher; Wedge-Tailed Eagle; Australian Shelduck; White-bellied Sea Eagle; Southern Boobook; Boobook Owl; Pere sold by Bonhams in June 2010. No works have been offered for sale this year, and the last sale we have recorded for the artist was in 2023.
