Born in Melbourne in 1940, Noela Jane Hjorth (nee Budge) studied art and printmaking in Melbourne and in London. In 1972 she opened an etching studio, and in 1976 established the Victorian Printmakers' Group and Workshop. Hjorth has exhibited in London and most Australian capital cities.
We have records of art auction sales by Noela Hjorth from 1990 and in total 31 works by the artist have been offered for sale, of which 18 (58%) were sold. No works have been offered for sale this year, and the last sale we have recorded for the artist was in 2023. Works by Noela Hjorth are held by the Ian Potter Museum of Art, Queensland Art Gallery and a further five major public national galleries (see list below).
