Edith Cowlishaw was born in Adelaide and was stongly influenced by an aunt Dora Featherstone who was a botanist and lover of Australian wildflowers. This has translated into Edith's etchings of the Australian bush. She graduated B.Sc [Sydney University] and worked as an industrial chemist. She studied with the [then] Sydney Technical College by correspondence for ten years and subsequently at the Workshop Art Centre Willoughby. She has had neumerous solo exhibitions at Brisbane,Newcastle, Maitland, Gosford, Sydney, Canberra, Hobart, and is a member of, and exhibits annually with the Print Circle and is also a member and former President of the Sydney Printmakers.
