Born in the late '30's at Mount Allan, Australian Aboriginal artist Don Morton and his brother Tim McCormack, are senior custodians of the Yuelamu site. In his youth, Don Morton worked as a stockman on Mount Allan station. An Anmatyerre tribesman, he is married to Evelyn Nampinjinpa and lives at Mount Allan. He can also paint Honey Ant, Yulka (Bush Onion) and the Women's Dreaming for Mount Wedge. The Yuelamu Museum was Don's brainchild, and it was his authority that sactioned the installation - within a section of the building sealed off to women and child - of a grouped painting for the Yuelamu Honey Ant Dreaming. He began painting in about 1987, Don passed away in 1996.

Since 1970 we have recorded only one work being sold at auction by this artist, which was in 1996.
