Born in Auckland in 1899, Edward Lattey was a farmer and landscape painter who lived in the King Country region of New Zealand's North Island and became a professional artist aged in his forties. He produced scenes of the New Zealand bush, painting on site, using watercolour or oil. From 1951 he lived in Levin , 95 km north of Wellington in the North Island of New Zealand.
