A New Zealand artist, Bessie Christie was born in Wellington in 1908. She painted landscapes, cityscapes, seacapes, floral studies and still life in both oil and watercolour, and exhibited with the Auckland Society of Arts, the New Zealand Academy of Fine Arts and the Rutland Group in Auckland during the 1950s.
