About Helena Fannie Gibson
Helena Gibson taught drawing at the Canterbury College, School of Art in 1900 and taught at Rangi-ruru Girl's School in Christchurch for 50 years until her death in 1938. A landscape painter in oils she exhibited with Auckland Society of Arts, the Canterbury Society of Arts from 1888, the New Zealand Academy of Fine Arts from 1898 and Otago Art Society from 1908.
