Ida Cooke was born New Plymouth 1913. She left New Zealand in the mid-1930s to study at the Slade School, London, then later attended Kokoschka's School, Salzburg. Cooke exhibited widely in the United Kingdom until the 1970s. Her work rarely appears at auction.
