About Ernie Trembath
Born in Melbourne in 1943, Ern Trembath is a realist painter, printer, photographer and commercial artist. He worked as a commercial artist for 16 years, conducted art classes and operated a gallery and framing and painting repair business. Ern Trembath exhibited at and won a number of art awards in regional Victoria and New South Wales in the 1980s, including a Paul Harris Fellowship by Rotary International from Camberwell Rotary Club for his assistance and dedication to the arts.
We have records of art auction sales by Ern Trembath from 1984 and in total 45 works by the artist have been offered for sale, of which 31 (69%) were sold. The highest price recorded for the artist is $6,600 for Day Break Near Eildon sold by Leonard Joel in November 1995. No works have been offered for sale this year, and the last sale we have recorded for the artist was in 2023. Works by Ern Trembath are held by the National Gallery of Victoria.
