Born in Sydney in 1945, Nigel Thomson studied in Sydney and Europe. He taught in Holland for some time and from 1970 exhibited in Australia and Europe. In Sydney in May 1981 he exhibited surrealistic paintings mostly on the theme of death. Nigel Thomson has won a number of awards including two Archibald and Sulman prizes.
